EEEEEE!

On Friday, my baby girl turns TWO!

HOLY COW! That is all I can say about that.

We always say, “Wow, I can’t believe she’s growing up so fast!”

but you know what?

There were some very real times where we didn’t think she’d even get the opportunity to grow up at ALL, so every single milestone is one to celebrate, birthday’s especially!!

We’re wanting to do something a little different for Annabelle’s birthday this year.

She really really doesn’t need a lot of “stuff.” Her toy “corner” is overflowing. Her dresser has plenty of clothes.

So in honor of Annabelle, this year we’re asking people to give gifts for the cardiac babies at the hospital where Annabelle lived her first 10 months of life.

The gift can be a monetary donation, in which we’ll purchase appropriate items for the “gift bags” we’ll prepare, or items such as (but not limited to):

  • Cute socks
  • Button up tops/onsies/jammies (important that they button up the front and do not zip!)
  • Baby hair bows/bands
  • Baby hat
  • Baby blankets
  • Baby rattles/toys/small stuffed animals

(*note* for germ reasons, all items must be NEW. For baby blankets, homemade blankets are fine as long as they have not been used in anyway.)

I know for me, when we were in the hospital, these little “normal” things that we could do to make our Annabelle feel as at home as possible were a HUGE help for us.

We’d like to have a few gift bags for boys and a few for girls!

Also, things suitable for a care package for their parents would be cool too!

I obviously understand that many reading my blog aren’t local or won’t be able to help, and that’s TOTALLY fine. Your prayers for the little ones are SUPER appreciated, as well as for my family in our first endevour of trying to “give back” and show Jesus love to families that are going through an extremely difficult time right now.

  1. Hi Krista! Found this post on the ACFW email loop. What a great idea for celebrating Annabelle's birthday. I'm going to check out your book, too! 🙂

  2. Oh Krista that is so wonderful and thoughtful of you!!! Let me tell you, as the bedside nurse, I get so excited when my babies have their own blankets to make their beds with. Our hospital ones are just not cute!!! And they are bleached to death so that they are practically stiff!

Thanks for giving back 🙂 I know so many people will appreciate it!!

  3. I have been knitting baby hats for our CICU…..I just made a delivery, but probably have a few hats here that I would love to send you.

  4. Awesome idea, Krista:)
